"Rosa de Dos Aromas (Rose by Any Other Name)"

Two vastly different women meet while waiting in a prisoner visiting area and become fast friends, but all bets are off when they discover they’re in love with the same inmate. Performed entirely in Spanish, Emilio Carballido’s Rosa de dos Aromas (A Rose By Any Other Name) comes from Oxnard’s Teatro de las Americas to L.A.’s La Plaza de la Raza as part of the Bilingual Foundation of the Arts’ V International Theatre Festival. This latest edition of the fest also features a piece by a Peruvian company, as well as plays by Hispanic theater groups in L.A., New York and elsewhere.
