The Hamazkayin Armenian Cultural and Educational Society Klatsor chapter and the AYF Canada Simon Zavarian chapter present renowned photojournalist and bestselling author Scout Tufankjian live in Toronto.
Tufankjian received photographic notoriety by becoming the only independent journalist to follow Senator Barack Obama from the initial stage of announcing his candidacy through to his victory on election night.
The images she captured during the campaign produced the bestselling book Yes We Can: Barack Obama’s History-Making Presidential Campaign. Her picture of Michelle and Barack Obama partaking in a warm embrace became the most liked picture on Facebook and the most re-tweeted picture in history.
Scout will be presenting the Armenian Diaspora Project and her newly published book There is Only the Earth.
