Tan Dun’s haunting, evocative score for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon earned him both an Oscar and a Grammy, and kick-started a triptych of martial arts scores that showcase his stirring style. In this concert, Dun will lead the LA Phil and cellist Johannes Moser through some of his greatest cinematic selections from the martial arts masterpieces Crouching Tiger, Banquet and Hero, with selected scenes from the soaring and spiritual films adding context to Tan’s dramatic music.
