A native of Oak Ridge, Tenn., who has been hailed for his virtuosity, Meyer won the prestigious Avery Fisher Prize in 2000. He has since been named a MacArthur Fellow, collaborated with Ma and Mark O’Connor on a Grammy-winning album and released a self-titled solo LP.
