Art, Politics, Sex and Truth in A Picasso

"A Picasso"

In this cat-and-mouse dramatic thriller by Jeffrey Hatcher, three of Picasso’s paintings have been stolen from their Jewish owners by Nazis. Considered to be the works of a degenerate (the artist’s contempt for fascists and the German occupation of Paris was well-known), the Nazi Ministry of Propaganda assigns a shrewd interrogator with the task of tricking Picasso himself into confirming the paintings’ authenticity in order that they might be destroyed. When Picasso finds out that the “exhibition” to which he’s been invited is actually to be a burning, it will take all of his talent to prevent the destruction of his work.
