Riding in on the first wave of heavy metal in the 1970s, Scorpions didn’t recede with the tide, but stuck around for decades unleashing classic anthems like “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” and “Wind of Change.” 50 years later, they’re still rocking, and celebrating that fact with an anniversary tour that stops at the “Fabulous” Forum this fall. Progressive heavy metal band Queensrÿche is coming along for the ride. One of the most distinctive bands of the ’80s metal scene, Queensrÿche married the art-rock sensibilities of ’70s acts like Pink Floyd and Queen with the guitar pyrotechnics that drove ’80s audiences wild. Their biggest hit was 1990’s “Silent Lucidity” which brought the band mainstream popularity for the first time.
