Few musicians reflect todays world quite as elegantly as the performers and composers of the Silk Road Ensemble. Formed by celebrated cellist Yo-Yo Ma in 2000, the ensemble draws on talent from more than 20 countries, and inspiration from instruments as varied as the Chinese pipa lute, Galician gaita bagpipe and Indian tabla paired drums.
