On Thursday, October 15, 2015, Isabelle Cochelin of University of Toronto and the Société d’Histoire de Toronto invite you at the Alliance française for a lecture dedicated to the “Magna Carta of the liberties of England” which guarantees the right to individual liberty.

This charter is the oldest important appearance of a long historic process which led to the rules of constitutional legality in the Anglo-Saxon countries. The influence of the Magna Carta outside England can be noticeable in the Constitution of the United States and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
