This set of 15 paintings is inspired by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission is on show at the Ben Navaee Gallery, 1107 Queen St E, Toronto, October 16-22, 2015 (1-5 pm, openning reception Oct 16 6-8 pm). The painting in the header is one in a series of paintings with 1200 square inches with marks for the more than 1200 murdered and missing Indigenous women and girls. The painting shown in the poster is based on the fire in Loon Lake Saskatchewan, when the 911 fire call came in from the First Nation, the village fire chief decided not to respond because the FN had an outstanding unpaid bill.
