About the Album:
Stones was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, with producer Colin Linden of Blackie & The Rodeo Kings. Colin first heard Stephs music on a radio program while he was driving through Nashville. He contacted Stephs label to express his interest in working with her, and from there, everything fell into place. Steph received a recording grant from FACTOR Canada, and is set to release Stones in October, 2015.
This album showcases Stephs finest songwriting to date, and it delves into some of the most personal themes she has yet explored. The title track, Stones, is about self-knowledge, the gradual loss of childhood naiveity, and uncertainty in the face of new relationships. Everything You Dont Do reminds us to set aside our demons, to overcome fear, and take risks in order to experience life fully and withough regrets. The record explores the complexity of personal and observed relationships between family members, friends, and lovers. With this album, Steph eloquently demonstrates her ability to express universal experiences with poetic depth and maturity.
