Día de los Muertos Collective, a community-run nonprofit organization, and – since 2013 – Casa Maíz, a Toronto-based cultural organization coordinate the efforts of musicians, Mexica (Aztec) dancers, culinary creators, artisans, visual artists and performers to bring this community-sponsored event to Wychwood Barns for the 7th year also with the support of Red Pepper Spectacle Arts.

The Day of the Dead Celebration will be held on Saturday October 31st, from 4 to 10 PM at Artscape Wychwood Barns (601 Christie; South of St. Clair, North of Davenport). Admission is free and the celebration is suitable for all ages.

Bring a Yellow/orange flower to place in the altar as an offering of your beloved ones that has passed away. This celebration is created by everyone in the community.

The Día de Los Muertos Collective is a nonprofit that coordinates the efforts of Toronto´s Mexican community to bring a celebration that honors the dead, delights the living, promotes artistic creation and foster community development through tradition.

Casa Maíz, is the cultural centre of the Latin American community in Toronto, where visual art, poetry, dance, performing arts and music make their home. We are dedicated to foster the love for our culture both in adults and in children so as to strengthen our roots along with a sense of identity and belonging in Canadian society.
