The Wiltern (Los Angeles, CA)
In the early ’90s, Oxford band RIDE helped put rock’s shoegaze subgenre on the map with their dreamy, distorted, entrancing sound. They got the world’s attention with their debut album Nowhere and its breakout hit “Vapour Trail,” which helped RIDE’s fame branch out from the U.K. scene to reach noise pop-lovers in Japan, the U.S. and beyond. After their 1996 split, members went on to make music with bands like Oasis, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Supergrass. The original RIDE lineup — singers-guitarists Andy Bell and Mark Gardener, bassist Steve Queralt and drummer Laurence “Loz” Colbert — got back together in 2014 and have since excited diehard fans with high-profile appearances at Coachella and Primavera Sound. Now, the influential foursome brings their reunion tour to The Wiltern in Los Angeles.
