Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles, CA)
Though still in her 20s, Chinese pianist Yuja Wang has already rocketed to the top of the classical music world with her astounding technical prowess and charismatic stage presence. She’s released several acclaimed albums, racked up awards — as well as a Grammy nomination — and has been hailed as nothing short of “the most dazzlingly, uncannily gifted pianist in the concert world today” by the San Francisco Chronicle. Now, she comes to Disney Hall, joining Conductor Lionel Bringuier and the Los Angeles Philharmonic for her first public performance of Mozart. Wang will perform the Austrian composer’s astonishing Piano Concerto No. 9, aka “Jeunhomme,” along with Debussy’s masterpiece, Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, and the US premiere of Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Karawane.
