Make Yourself at Home is a curated group exhibition that challenges the notion of private versus public space. By switching the venue to a residential home, the audience subsequently faces a number of questions. Are visitors more receptive to the art pieces on display now that they are hung in a house? If so, does this mean that the art work is now decorative because of its surrounding space? What happens to the interpretation of the art works? Has the piece lost or gained meaning?

The works shown in this exhibition encourage viewers to contemplate over their understanding of “private” and “public”. With works that blur the boundaries of intimacy and visceral discomfort, the viewers are confronted with the idea of how they interact with art pieces in an arguably confuse-defined space.

Built conceptually like a soiree, guests are invited over for an extended evening filled with wine, cheese and art. Please, swing by and enjoy yourselves for ONE night and, above all else, Make Yourself at Home.
