Northern Contemporary is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new paintings by Caitlyn Murphy.

In Window Studies, the artist brings forward a collection that utilizes windows as frames and the world beyond as her subject matter. Looking through the windows of her apartment onto the street below or glancing out of a passing car at night, Caitlyn Murphy creates an intimate and personal visual record of the urban landscapes that surround us.

Caitlyn Murphy is an artist living and working in Toronto. She graduated from the Illustration program at OCADU in 2015, where she won the Project 31 Illustration award for her thesis project, Anxious Days. She was featured in CMYK Magazine’s Top 100 New Creatives issue in 2013 and 2014 and was selected to design a Polaris Music Prize poster in 2014. Her work has been published by Chronicle Books. This will be her first solo show.

Opening reception: March 17 from 7-11pm. Please rsvp to hitoshi@northerncontemporarygallery.com
