As part of the 2016 Toronto Festival of Storytelling, An Evening of Storytelling at the Ismaili Centre, Toronto will be held on Thursday April, 7 at 7pm.
Author/adventurer Tahir Shah and Egyptian storyteller Chirine El Ansary present an evening exploring the power of storytelling in contemporary society. Tahir Shah is the author of The Caliph’s House, In Arabian Nights, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and many other books. Storytelling is at the heart of his travels and work. Chirine El Ansary is an Egyptian storyteller living in France, who specializes in traditional Arab folktales. She has performed at festivals through Europe, the Middle East, and Quebec. Tahir Shah and Chirine El Ansary are featured performers at the Toronto Storytelling Festival.
