Students in the Public Relations postgraduate program at Humber College are organizing a carnival called It’s Easy Being Green to promote environmental sustainability. The event is being held at the Lakeshore Campus on April 14, 2016 in K Building.
Humber College students and staff are invited to attend It’s Easy Being Green. The event is the first of its kind, focusing on how people can take more initiatives to become environmental stewards. We’re offering free food, games, raffle prizes and we’re featuring eight vendors including Live Green Toronto, Lakeshore Environmental Gardening Society, Humber Bee Keepers and The Toronto Zoo.
Many students have limited awareness about Humber’s existing environmental sustainability initiatives. In 2013, Humber became the first college in Ontario and the third college in Canada to receive the silver level rating from Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS). Our goal for this event is to bring to students’ attention the importance of being environmentally aware, and how sustainable living can be simple.
