Prefix ICA is pleased to celebrate the release of the thirty-third issue of Prefix Photo, on the subject of "Performing Labour." This issue of the mgazine features art historians Erin Silver and Sarah Smith on the artistic practice of Carole Cond and Karl Beveridge; curator Scott McLeod on the work of Rodney Graham; and independent curator and scholar Vanessa Fleet on the photographs of Martha Cooper. It also includes a literary feature by writer and poet Michael Crummey; portfolios by Rouzbeh Akhbari and Felix Kalmenson, Danny C Custodio, Oded Hirsch, Mika Rottenberg, Santiago Sierra and Jorge Galindo; book reviews by Rosemary Donegan, Michael DiRisio, Andrea Fatona and Amanda Rataj. Many of the contributors will be present.
In conjunction with the release of the magazine, Prefix ICA is pleased to host the opening reception for "Jack of All Trades," a solo exhibition by renowned Canadian artist Rodney Graham. Featuring three recent allegorical portraits mounted in large-scale light boxes, the exhibition is curated by Scott McLeod and presented as a primary exhibition of the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival, with support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the City of Toronto through the Toronto Arts Council. The artist and curator will both be present.
Prefix is open from Wednesday to Saturday, 12 to 5 PM, and by appointment. Admission is free. The exhibition continues until July 30, 2016.
