Archiving the Archivist: Andrea Fawcett Solo Retrospective

Andrea Fawcett was an artist and historian whose collection of large pieces and personal archives have been mined by curator Lauren Hunter to bring you this retrospective. Andrea travelled throughout Europe chasing the illusive brasses which fascinated her, and decoded their elaborate symbology as well as preserving them through rubbings. Her notes have been collaged as an exploration of the archiving process, and the personal nexus of Andrea and her identity as a woman and an archivist is alluded to, but never made explicit.
