Come As You Are
Studio Bars monthly alternative rock night.
The first time I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit I nearly soiled my pants. I was walking down queen street with my mom and a car full of cool kids drove by blasting it. I remember asking myselfwhat in the fuck is that!?!?! It was a time before Shazam, so it would be another two weeks till I was able to i.d. the track They were playing it at my local comic book shop and i mustered up the courage to ask what was playing. My life changed forever.
What ensued was a movement were the counter culture moved to the forefront. At the time a bunch of glitzy glam bands owned the charts and the sound didnt resonate with your average angst ridden teen. With Nirvana and the alternative/punk movement that followed we no longer needed to dig though our parents Led Zeppelin and Jimi records to hear something dope. We had a sound that was ours.
