Ginkgoa is a French/American Pop Electroswing band founded in Paris in 2010, when New Yorker Nicolle Rochelle met Paris-based Antoine Chatenet in a local jazz club. They started Ginkgoa to create French songs with an American vibe, and American songs with a French touch, where history and genre would cross and collide – pop music, old New-York swing, electronic beats. Their goal is to get people dancing, swaying and singing along to melodies that stay in your head long after the band has left the building – like the Ginkgo, their tree totem, which dates back millions of years. Officially discovered at French festival Les Francofolies, where they won the festival’s Favourite Group prize, they more recently performed at globalFEST in New York, and have toured across Europe, North America and into China.
