A restaurant manager from a local fast food chain has been arrested after allegations came forward about sexual offences involving female employees.

During late August 2010, two teenaged female victims, both employees of a McDonald’s restaurant in Whitby, reported to police allegations involving sexual offences against their supervisor. It is alleged the accused began social relationships with both victims outside of store hours. The relationships included text messaging and communicating through social media sites. In the spring of 2010, the accused convinced both victims, at separate times, to visit his personal residence in Ajax where the sexual offences are alleged to have occurred.

Investigators with the DRPS Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit launched their investigation into the allegations and arrested the suspect yesterday, September 9th. The teenaged victims ages 15 and 16 years were not physically harmed and did not require medical attention.

Anthony BARSANTI, age 35 of Ravenscroft Road in Ajax is charged with: .Sexual Exploitation; Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing and police would like to ensure there are no other further victims.
