A 65-year-old piano teacher has been arrested and charged after allegations of sexual assault were brought to the attention of the Vancouver Police.

On December 18, 2013, the VPD Sex Crimes Unit Police arrested Yung Ping David Chen for sexual interference and sexual assault. He has been released from custody with conditions that includ no contact with any person under the age of 18.

Chen has taught private piano lessons to students in the basement of his Vancouver home for more than 30 years. The VPD is concerned that other students have been victimized.

There is a publication ban in place to protect the identity of the victims. As a result, details regarding the alleged offence are limited.
