Michael Carbone arrested for "Race Ready" Car Theft in Mississauga

Investigators from the Commercial Auto Crime Unit have made an arrest after locating parts to a “race ready” Ford Mustang that was previously reported stolen.

In the early morning hours of Monday, July 12, 2010, unknown suspects broke into the yard at 7595 Danbro Crescent. Once inside the yard, the suspects hooked up a 28-foot trailer and then left with it. The trailer contained a race-ready, 1983 green Ford Mustang, valued at $150,000.00.

On November 9, 2010, members of the Commercial Auto Crime Unit executed a search warrant at 1790 Meyerside Drive in Mississauga. Within the premise, officers recovered many of the parts of the stolen vehicle.

Michael CARBONE, a 29 year-old male from Mississauga, has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on December 13, 2010.

I've got an idea...why not make Mr Carbone pay $150,000 (rather than the insurance company) to the owner whose car he stole, and also pay legal fees. When are we going to get tough with these theives and criminals?

And if and when this creep is convicted, various members employed in the legal system will have made thousands of dollars each.
No wonder we don't give deterent sentences and keep these characters out of society - it wouldn't be profitable for the 'protection' racket.
