The Senior Superintendent of Police in Karachi Rao Anwar Ahmad made a serious allegation on one of his colleagues of the Malir blast which was aimed at killing the SSP Karachi. He gave his statement on Friday.

SSP Karachi who was targeted by a suicide attempt on Thursday, has come to the media stating that he has significant non-specified evidence pointing towards one of his colleagues within the police department who had a strong role to play in the blast last Thursday. He also explained that the individual had planned the blast attack on him along his two brothers.

On a prior note, Pakistani Taliban had already taken the responsibility of the attack on SSP Karachi as he had promised to eliminate extremist in the largest city of the country. However, SSP Rao has claimed that the Karachi police force has been breached by the Talibans and there are representatives of terrorist groups within the police force. He also informed the media that he has filed a complaint against the colleague in question and his brothers. The accused police officer is unreachable at the moment.

He said, “I got several letters sent by unknown militants, the latest of them was received last month, in which they had threatened me with grave consequences if I continue to hunt their terror accomplices.”
