Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif addressed a gathering of students at the University of Engineering and Technology at the time of distribution of laptops amongst deserving students and said that ‘death with dignity is better than begging around the world’ on Tuesday.

He also said that the clouds of threat captivating Pakistan are soon going to go away and Pakistan will see good days very soon. Speaking at the occasion he expressed regret and grief for the Pakistani soldiers trapped under ice at the Saichen glacier and sympathized with the families of the trapped soldiers and wished that Allah gives them the strength to deal with the loss. He also said that at a time when Pakistan is facing grave difficulties, enemies of the country have joined hands within and outside Pakistan.

Referring to the power supply problem that the province of Punjab is facing he said that the province is being pushed to darkness forcefully which is leading to an annual loss of Rs. 300 billion on provincial level only which is magnified when speaking about the entire country.

Speaking at the laptop distribution ceremony, Shahbaz promised to give a laptop to one of the female students present at the occasion and a male student who came up on stage to sing a national song from his own pocket.
