European Commission raids offices of Red Bull

The offices of Red Bull, the Austrian energy drink manufacturer, have been raided by European Commission inspectors in connection with an investigation into suspected cartel formation and market manipulation.

The inspections were conducted as part of a preliminary step in the investigation and do not imply that the company is guilty of any wrongdoing. Red Bull has confirmed that it is cooperating fully with the investigation. As the world’s largest and most popular energy drink producer, Red Bull sold approximately 11 billion cans last year and generated nearly €10 billion in revenue.

The company is also known for its significant marketing investments in the sports industry, including ownership of the Formula 1 team of Dutch two-time world champion Max Verstappen.
