A Malayalam film has been named after Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Nadirshah, Kattapanyile Hrithik Roshan, as the film is titled, is the story of a young ordinary working class man played by Vishnu Unnikrishnan who yearns to be a star like Hrithik Roshan.

The film opened to a strong box office response this week. Hrithik says he was not aware of this film being made until its release and the subsequent tweets and write-ups about the superstar’s importance in the scheme of the film.

Says Hrithik, “What can I say? I am honoured. It isn’t every day that a film is named after an actor.”

Apparently the Malayalam film’s team of leading man and director are keen to show their film to Hrithik, and Hrithik is more than willing to oblige although he’s busy promoting his forthcoming film Kaabil round the clock.

Not too many films are named after actors. Earlier we had Chandan Arora’s Main Madhuri Dixit Ban-na Chahti Hoon about a working class girl (Antara Mali) who is fascinated by Ms Dixit.
