Chitrangda Singh turns pop singer

It’s been a couple of years since we spotted the dusky actress Chitrangda Singh’s acting prowess on screen. While the last time we saw her she was grooving to the sultry number ‘Aao Raja’ in Gabbar Is Back, the role was nothing more than a special dance track. But now, we hear that the actress is all set to be back with a power packed performance.

Chitrangda Singh will apparently play the role of a pop singer in Girish Malik’s Band of Maharajas. The film is said to be a musical where she will be seen as the leading lady named Billo Mumtaz. She will also be dressing up as a singer which will include blingy jackets, leather pants as a part of her wardrobe. From what we hear Chitrangda has already started prepping for the role and has even been attending workshops for the same. In order to get into her role as a singer, the actress will also undergo musical training wherein she has been learning violin and drums.

The details of the rest of the cast are currently being kept under wraps. Band of Maharajas is slated to go on floor in Rajasthan’s Gaganagar and the second schedule will wrap up in Manali next year.

Prior to this, Chitrangda Singh was said to be playing the lead in the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Babumoshai Bandookbaaz but the actress decided to walk out of the film after she had a major showdown with the director of the film Kushan Nandy.
