Sushant-Singh-Rajput-19

Earlier this year, actor Sushant Singh Rajput did a pretty convincing job of portraying one of India’s most successful cricket captains Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the film M.S. Dhoni –The Untold Story. Well, post the release and subsequent success of the biopic, Sushant soon commenced work on his next venture Raabta. Now, we hear that post the Dinesh Vijan directorial, Raabta and the Homi Adajania directed film Takadum, Sushant will be seen stepping into the shoes of Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling for a remake of the 2011 film Drive.

If what we hear is anything to go by, Sushant will soon be seen in Tarun Mansukhani’s next that will also apparently star Jacqueline Fernandez. Said to be based on the 2011 Hollywood film Drive, which featured Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan, sources close to the actor state that the remake is also tentatively titled Drive and will go on floors around mid-2017.

Reports further say that Jacqueline Fernandez has already given her nod and has started working hard to cope with the high octane action sequences in the film. To be shot extensively in India and a few Southeast Asian countries, the film will see Sushant reprise the role of a nameless stunt driver originally played by Gosling who moonlights as a getaway driver for criminals.

Drive that released in 2011 was based on a novel by James Sallis.
