Sidharth Malhotra and Virat Kohli chosen as ambassadors for 'Skill India'

Readers may recall that, amongst the many initiatives for our country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched ‘Skill India’ only last year. For the uninitiated, ‘Skill India’ was launched with an aim of training over 40 crore people in India in different skills by the year 2022.

In order to take this forward, two of the star personalities (from their respective fields) have been chosen to be the goodwill ambassadors for the said initiative. These two star personalities happen to be none other than Sidharth Malhotra and Virat Kohli.

Rajiv Pratap Rudy (Union Minister of State For Skill Development And Entrepreneurship), under whose guidance ‘Skill India’ is being carried out, said that the nation’s youth would be motivated to perform in their everyday lives like Sidharth Malhotra and Virat Kohli, who have earned their places with their talent and respective skills. Echoing his sentiments, Manish Kumar (MD & CEO-National Skill Development Corporation) said that the idea of having Virat Kohli and Sidharth Malhotra on board was to reach out to the youth who considered them as their icons.
