Akshay Kumar character

After the much awaited wait, the trailer of Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 finally got released and has been garnering good response for the same. Readers may know that, Jolly LLB 2 happens to be a sequel to Subhash Kapoor’s 2013 directorial Jolly LLB, that had Arshad Warsi in the lead.

Speaking about his role in Jolly LLB 2, Akshay Kumar felt that his character in the film has been inspired by the historical Birbal, who happened to be one of the nine gems of Emperor Akbar’s court. As a matter of fact, Akshay Kumar’s connection with Birbal traces back to his childhood, when his father Hari Om Bhatia used to read out to him the stories of Akbar and Birbal. As a young boy, Akshay Kumar used to love listening to the tales of how the astute and quick-thinking royal guide resolved issues with his intellect, consequently bringing a smile to everyone’s faces and at the same time, also communicating a message through his actions. Needless to say that, when Akshay Kumar heard about his role in Jolly LLB 2, he became quite stimulated about playing a character who personified similar qualities as his childhood’s hero Birbal.

Besides Akshay Kumar, Jolly LLB 2 stars Huma Qureshi, Annu Kapoor, Manav Kaul and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles. The film is slated to release on February 10 next year.
