Prateik Babbar embraces his dad’s family, describes Nadira Babbar as his mom

After grappling with drug abuse and emerging victorious, the new power-packed Prateik Babbar is all set make a comeback into Bollywood in 2017. 2016 has been a period of churning for the troubled son of Raj Babbar and Smita Patil whose legendary mother died when he was born.

Says a family friend of the Babbars, “For years Prateik struggled against accepting his father’s first family, his stepmother Nadira Babbar and his step-siblings. But after the death of his Naani who was like his mother Prateik was lost and moor less. He drifted into drugs and lost a very promising career. Now he has gathered himself together again. Prateik reached out to his father like never before. Now for the first time Prateik is close to his father Raj Babbar and to Raj’s family. He even calls Nadira his mom now and reaches out to her for advice on his life just the way he did with his Naani.”

Says Prateik happily, “My mum Nadira always helps and gives me very valuable advice! Generally about life… nothing specific! On Life and work and being an actor. I haven’t asked her about my new passion, theatre acting. But I bet if ever get down to asking for proper professional help or guidance I know there’s so much that I can learn… She, being such a stalwart.”
