Puneet Issar gets credit

Aamir Khan is gearing up for the last big release of the year, Dangal. The film that seems to have already grabbed ample of attention, will hit the silver screen this week but here’s a piece of information that will trigger one’s curiousity. Apparently, actor-filmmaker Puneet Issar had the rights to the title Dangal.

There were speculations for quite some time about the biopics being made on wrestlers. So when Nitesh Tiwari and Aamir Khan decided to go ahead with the biopic on Mahavir Phogat, they were looking out for the title ‘Dangal’ which means a wrestling match. However, they couldn’t use it as the rights were with Puneet Issar. Aamir revealed that it was Salman Khan who intervened to get the title of the film. The superstar decided to talk to Puneet and helped Aamir.

And now keeping up their word, Puneet Issar has been given credit in the film, as a gesture of gratitude towards the filmmaker who lent them the title rights.

Dangal also stars debutants Fatima Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra in key roles and is slated to release on December 21.
