Iulia Vantur, Salman Khan’s Romanian girlfriend was prominently present at Salman Khan’s 51st birthday bash at his farm-house in Panvel on the outskirts of Mumbai, thereby putting an end for now to the speculation on whether the couple has broken up or not.

Says a close friend of Salman’s from the Panvel bash (which continued till early morning on Tuesday), “If you are asking me about their relationship status then I don’t know about it. But she was very much there at the farm, very quiet but comfortable with Salman’s family. The lack of conversation has more to do with her shyness regarding Salman’s family and friends than a communication issue. She’s still getting used to Salman’s lifestyle. She was seen making an effort to integrate (into Salman’s family). But Salman was busy with his sister Arpita’s kid. That child is Salman’s favourite these days.”

Also putting an end to all the speculation on their relationship status was filmmaker Kabir Khan who put in his appearance at the bash more to quell rumours of a rift than to actually have a good time.

Says Kabir Khan, “I was very much there at the celebration. All these rumours of the rift are rubbish. These unsavoury rumours start every time we work together.”

Says a friend of Salman’s, “Though Kabir denies it, there is definitely a strain in the friendship. We could all feel the cold vibes. I think they’ve a film to finish together, so they’re keeping up appearances. But there’s definitely coldness in their mutual vibes.”

Incidentally Salman’s new blue-eyed director Ali Abbas Zafar, who directed Sultan and has also taken over the Ek Tha Tiger sequel from Kabir Khan, was not present at the Panvel bash. He is travelling abroad with his family.

Salman’s birthday bash this year was relatively low-key.

“Salman didn’t want shor-sharaaba this time. We get together for Salman’s birthday every year at his farm house in Panvel. But this time the celebrations were subdued. I think Salman, for all his closeness to his brothers, parents, sisters and their kids, misses having a family of his own. But I don’t think he’s planning to get married,” says the buddy.

Incidentally the favourite topic of conversation at Salman’s bash was Aamir Khan’s Dangal. “Salman kept recommending the film to everyone at the celebrations. He loved the film. And he loved the fact that Aamir and Salman had both wrestled at the box office with films based on the same sport,” says the buddy.
