SHOCKING Nawazuddin Siddiqui's cryptic tweet sheds light on racism that exists in film industry

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has attained the status of one of the most versatile actors in this industry. The actor has done diverse roles and received accolades for his incredible performances. But, it seems like Nawazuddin Siddiqui is still facing a hard time in the industry because of his unconventional looks.

In a cryptic tweet on Monday, Nawazuddin Siddiqui hinted about biases that actors face in the film industry on the basis of their skin colour. He wrote, “Thank U 4 making me realise dat I cannot b paired along wid d fair & handsome bcz I m dark & not good looking, but I never focus on that.” It made everyone wonder as to what prompted Nawazuddin to write this on his social media.

But, this comes after the recent statement made by casting director of Nawazuddin’s upcoming film Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, Sanjay Chouhan. He made a regressive statement while talking about Nawaz and how they had to pair same colour actors around him after Chitrangda Singh abruptly left the film. He said that that they had to cast other characters keeping Nawaz in mind as they could not cast fair and handsome people alongside him. According to the casting director, it would have looked weird. They had to cast people who had distinct features and personalities when they were pairing with Nawaz.

On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to shake a leg in his upcoming release, Munna Michael. The film stars Tiger Shroff and newbie Nidhhi Agerwal. It is slated to release on July 21. He will also be seen as Saadat Hasan Manto in Nandita Das’ short film titled In Defence of Freedom. He is also starring in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz which is set for August 25 release.
