Ranbir Kapoor reveals he wanted to protest against Karan Johar’s show Koffee with Karan

Here’s why Ranbir Kapoor confessed that Jagga Jasoos will be his last film as a producer

Filmmaker Karan Johar returned this year with the new season of his celebrity chat show, Koffee with Karan. Of all the seasons, the latest season saw celebrities being very careful about what they were saying so that they don’t have to face anything controversial that might get them in trouble.

As it was the season of unusual pairing, Ranbir Kapoor appeared on the show with Ranveer Singh. While the episode was interesting, Ranbir recently made a confession that he was forced to appear on the show. In a recent podcast with the comedy group All India Bakchod, Ranbir revealed that he and Anushka Sharma were going to protest against the show. He said, “I was forced this year (to be a part of KWK). I told him (Karan Johar) I don’t want to come. Me and Anushka were actually going to protest and bring the whole film industry together to stop this. Because it’s not fair as he’s making money out of us and we come and we get screwed through the year. And it’s not right.”

Not only did he diss the show, Ranbir Kapoor also revealed how being friends with Karan and appearing on the show gets them screwed. He said, “That’s the problem with KWK. Because you know him (Karan Johar) so well and he makes you so comfortable, so when you’re chatting with him you don’t realise that there are a billion people who are taking every word of yours so seriously that you’re going to get screwed.”

When Ranbir Kapoor was quizzed about the famous Koffee hamper, he said, “Nothing! You get anything, the same iPhone you are getting.”

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor was recently seen in Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos with Katrina Kaif. Meanwhile, he is currently in New York shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic.
