Ask any heroine or female co-star and they all have nice things to say about Shah Rukh Khan. It is impossible to hear anyone saying that SRK didn’t treat a lady well, whether on sets or in real life. Anushka Sharma, at the trailer launch of Jab Harry Met Sejal, that features Shah Rukh as the lead male actor, also confirmed that she feels comfortable in the presence of the superstar. She also said that she was nervous on the first day of her debut film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi since that’s where she was to meet Shah Rukh, whom she had never met before. But the 51-year-old actor made her comfortable, confirmed Anushka.
Perhaps because of the perception or his ‘king of romance’ image, Shah Rukh Khan’s female fans too adore him a lot. They get concerned when SRK seems visibly upset if his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders loses a match. Very few actors can boast of this feat. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama exclusively, SRK said, “I have been working since a long time. So a lot of girls, who have grown up or have their own children or mothers who have become grandmothers now, they all have seen me from the start. They recognize the sensitivity that I have when I am essaying the various roles in my films. My upbringing is done by women. Even right now, I am surrounded with women – my sister, my wife, my daughter and of course all the ladies that I have worked with. This is the only reasoning that I can give to explain why people attach me to them so fast, especially women. They know there is decency, there is dignity and it’s alright to feel sad with Shah Rukh and it’s alright to feel happy with Shah Rukh. I believe 90% women also feel it is alright to be naughty with Shah Rukh! Also, I come across as a harmless man and I guess girls like that. Girls know that I would love them the way they are, because I love every woman in the world irrespective of their age, background. They also know that I love them without them having to try for me to love them back.”
On the film front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the release of Jab Harry Met Sejal. It is directed by Imtiaz Ali and releases on August 4. His next release also stars Anushka, and also Katrina Kaif. In this untitled film, directed by Aanand L Rai, Shah Rukh will be seen as a dwarf and will arrive in theatres on Christmas 2018.
