Filmmaker Karan Johar is known to give new talents a platform either as actors or as directors. Now, the filmmaker is set to introduce two debutantes in Bollywood through a love story.
On Wednesday, Karan Johar announced Janhvi Kapoor, Sridevi-Boney Kapoor’s daughter, will be making her Bollywood debut opposite Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter in Dhadak, the Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat. They released three posters while introducing the new kids on the block.
On Thursday morning, a new poster along with two new stills from the film has been released. In the poster, Janhvi and Ishaan’s characters look much in love. Wearing a printed shirt with denim, Ishaan is all smiling while gazing at Janhvi. Janhvi, on the other, looks graceful in a lehenga.
In a still, Janhvi is sitting in front of a cycle while Ishaan takes her on a cycle ride. In another still, Janhvi keeps Ishaan close to her.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan and co-produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, Dhadak will go on floors in the month of December 2017. The film is set to release on July 6, 2018.
