Amitabh Bachchan inspired Anand Pandit for a social cause as the producer and real estate developer distributed thousand hearing aids through Yuvak Pratisthan Trust. The friendship between megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Anand Pandit is well known as the two share a long standing friendship. On his 75th birthday, inspired by the various social initiatives that Amitabh is associated with, Anand Pandit collaborated with Yuvak Pratisthan Trust and began an initiative to provide hearing aid kits to those who have hearing impediments and can’t afford them.
Over the past three months, he has been able to provide these kits to at least 1000 people of all ages. Yuvak Pratisthan is a charitable trust run by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya and they have kicked off an initiative wherein they will be distributing the hearing loss aid kits to almost 10,000 plus people across the country. Out of them the first 1000 have already been already been distributed by Anand Pandit. During the event, Anand Pandit also urged Amitabh Bachchan and requested him to distribute a few more kits with his hands.
All these beneficiaries were present at a grand ceremony where they met the legendary star who got emotional when he heard of him being the inspiration behind this whole initiative. Talking about this, Amitabh Bachchan said, “It is wonderful to see the good work that Anand bhai has done and it is extremely humbling for me to know that he draws inspiration from me. In fact, I draw inspiration from him as well as all these people here who fight problems and challenges every single day of their lives.”
On the other hand, Anand Pandit too added, “It is an honour to have Amitabhji here to meet the people who are benefitting because of his inspiring personality. I have always believed in social causes but the inspiration behind that has been Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, the legend. There are very few people like Amitabhji who inspire you to do well. Also I’d like to thank Mr. Kirit Somaiya and his trust Yuvak Pratisthan for their support and for facilitating the process of getting these kits to those who need them.”
Kirit Somaiya, BJP MP said, “It is our endeavour as part of Yuvak Pratisthan Trust to help more and more people. A lot of times, those with hearing impediments are not seen as battling a difficult and struggling life. We want to highlight that and create awareness by helping as many people as possible. We have started out by providing these kits free of cost to more than five hundred people and children and it will cross more than a thousand soon.”
The event was organized at NMIMS Juhu in Mumbai where Mr. Bachchan also interacted with the beneficiaries of the hearing aid kits.
