The grand finale of the five-day fashion fiesta, Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 concluded on a high-octane drama with Begum Jaan, Kareena Kapoor Khan turning show stopper for feted fashion designer, Anamika Khanna. Weaving the splendid black magic spell, Kareena Kapoor appeared out of nowhere and stunned everyone with her avatar. As the face of the iconic beauty brand Lakme, Kareena Kapoor Khan gushed about the cutting-edge beauty themes that the brand launches every season, be it ‘Liquid Gold’ the last season or ‘Reinventing Nudes’ this time. Anamika Khanna showcased her latest Spring Summer 2018 collection that was diverse and versatile, just like this season’s theme of ‘Reinventing Nudes’. The inspiration behind it were the millennials, who are free-thinkers and wear their style their own way and their attitude on their sleeves. The location of the finale, the powerful and spectacular Bandra fort added to the euphoria and the timeless spirit.
Anamika has been reigning the crown of many firsts right from being the first Indian woman to showcase her collection in the Paris Fashion Week to being part of the Business of Fashion 500 list. Quite rightly, she is seen as highbrow and sartorial in equal measure – a role model for the contemporary women out there. Anamika Khanna’s philosophy of innovation with regards to the Indian style, while also keeping it extremely relevant to the modern world, reflects well in the Spring Summer 2018 collection. The collection featured non-constrictive and free-spirited colours in sync with the theme featuring nudes, black and bright hues. The collection also highlights a keen attention to detail like treatment of the fabric to the smaller details of it to the overall development of the garments. The key feature of the collection is that everyone can wear with ease.

Kareena donned a black sleeveless dress with an asymmetrical sheer overlay with ornate statement earrings. Subtle makeup and sleek hair rounded out her look.

Khanna’s contemporary collection was a stunning fusion of traditional Indian aesthetics with edgy cuts with plenty of experimentation. The ensembles bore a modern relevance in addition to being individualistic and making a statement. Having said this, there ain’t anybody like Kareena Kapoor Khan! Owning the runway with her obvious glamour and panache, Kareena Kapoor Khan added another dazzling chapter in her burgeoning book of spunk.
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan will be next seen sharing screen space with Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania in Rhea Kapoor’s Veere Di Wedding that is helmed by Shashanka Ghosh and scheduled to release on June 1.
