The year began with a bang for Aditi Rao Hydari, courtesy the magnum opus, Padmaavat. Essaying the role of Mehrunisa, first wife of Alauddin Khilji and Queen of the Delhi Sultanate, Aditi garnered appreciation from all quarters for her subdued elegance and holding her ground amidst the ensemble cast with her restrained yet resilient performance. She is all set to add yet another glorious feather to her cap with the movie, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, a Tamil film directed by Manu Ratnam. Teaming with the maverick director for the second time following their first venture Kaatru Veliyidai, the Mani Ratnam muse turns cover girl in the Spring Style edition of the lifestyle magazine, Harper’s Bazaar this April. While her penchant to infuse life into etic ensembles is known as the diva has played muse to some of the most exquisite creations by feted Indian designers, Aditi cuts a striking picture on the cover. A style chameleon whose style features a melange of vibes in addition to those ethnic ensembles, like the high street style, luxe designer ensembles, casual chic outfits and crisp formal wear, Aditi pulls them all with an effortless charm and equal aplomb.

The photoshoot has been styled by fashion stylist Yukta Sodha, perfectly captured by Porus Vimadalal, directed by Edward Lalrempuia. The glam squad responsible for Aditi’s dewy & divine look features makeup artist and hair stylist Elton J Fernandez. This special feature has been penned by renowned film critic Raja Sen who has extolled her ethereal appeal and how she is the epitome of the Mani Ratnam heroine – a woman with “verve and spirit and agency. The cover features Aditi wearing a printed shirt from Hermes with delicate gold-toned tusk ear jacket earrings from The Line. On the professional front, Aditi Rao Hydari is all set to play the role of Chandni in Sudhir Mishra’s political thriller, Daas Dev that narrates a reverse tale of Sarat Chandra Chatterjee’s DevDas. Aditi will be seen sharing screen space with Rahul Bhat and Richa Chadda. The movie is scheduled for a release on 23 March 2018.
