Bollywood today has transcended many generations of filmmaking since its beginning; however the latest trend to hit the industry is that of remaking films which are cult classics. The case in question here is the upcoming remake of the film Zanjeer.

As we already know, the writers of the original 70s classic, Salim-Javed, were miffed with producer Amit Mehra, for not taking them into confidence about his much talked about remake. However, when Amit met the duo, the scriptwriters of the original made it amply clear that he would have to shell out a substantial sum as royalty if he wanted their script re-translated on celluloid.

To further the process, we now hear that Javed Akhtar has hired a legal team to deal with the copyright issue of Zanjeer. Apparently, the veteran lyricist-writer is miffed with Mehra for claiming that all is well between the warring factions and that the remake will continue without any hindrance.
