The President of one of the major political parties of Pakistan, PML (N) Nawaz Sharif suggested that the government should take initiative to pull back the troops from Siachan on Wednesday.
The former PM of Pakistan urged the current government to drop the war of ego and call back the troops from the disputed region of Kashmir, Siachan. Speaking to the media on the matter he said, “Let’s not make it a matter of ego. Pakistan should take the initiative.â€
Nawaz Shairf had previously also called on the government of India as well as Pakistan to call back their armies from the glacier seeing the avalanche taking the lives of 138 Pakistani soldiers for no good enough reason at all during the last week. The incident of the avalanche hitting the base of Pakistani military camp and burring about 138 men under ice had brought the attention of the world once again towards the 65 year old battle between Pakistan and India.
Shairf suggested that both the countries should talk and withdraw their forces from the disputed region to not only save the lives of the hundreds of the individuals posted on the glacier for security purposes but also suggested that both the countries can spend those billions of dollars on improving the living conditions of their people.
