Do you remember Dharmendra saying ‘suicideeeee’ in Sholay? If you are a Bollywood buff, then this would have been one of the most memorable scenes one may have ever seen. The ‘Jatt’ veteran actor’s sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol are coming together with their father in the third instalment of Yamla Pagla Deewana. And now, Dharmendra’s younger son Bobby Deol is all set to recreate the popular scene in this film, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se.

It seems that the makers have been keen on having this ‘suicide’ scene since it will fit with the character played by Bobby Deol. If reports are to be believed, the 1975 scene will get a new version, albeit Bobby as the drunkard. These reports suggest that Bobby’s character, which is mild during the day, suddenly turns all emotional in the night after drinking. His character ends up pouring his heart out to everyone around, including his real and reel life brother Sunny Deol.

For the uninitiated, yet another interesting element of Veeru, essayed by Dharmendra in Sholay was that even though his complaints were only against Basanti’s aunt [maternal aunt], he ends up dragging the entire village in it. Speaking about the scene in recent reports, director Navaniat Singh clarified that it is not a cut-copy-paste job and that the scene was included in the story because even Bobby’s character in the comic movie while patient and sober in the day gets drunk every night and recites his feeling not just to his brother but to the entire society.

He has maintained that they have retained the flavor of the iconic Dharmendra scene, even though the situation is completely different. The filmmaker added that Bobby’s complaints are just against one character in particular but he takes their fight up to the terrace of his Amritsar home and makes it public, in a similar way that his father did in Sholay.

With Kriti Kharbanda essaying the role of the leading lady, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se will be hitting the theatres this year but the date is yet to be revealed.
