Today Pooja Bhatt and her father Mahesh Bhatt are regarded as prominent filmmakers in their own right. While Mahesh Bhatt has proved his mettle multiple times at the box office, Pooja Bhatt is still dabbling with filmmaking and production with a few hits in her kitty. But away from announcing a new film, Pooja Bhatt decided to take a walk down memory lane especially since the film Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi completes 27 years today.
Taking to Instagram Pooja Bhatt shared a coupled of images from the shoot of the film saying, “27 yrs of ‘Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin’ tomorrow and I stumble upon these albums bursting with photographs from back then, ravaged with time… those were the days the continuity photographer painstakingly captured each and every moment on set, numbered each image and delivered it to the producer in these mammoth albums that the producer then used to sell the film to distributors. We also used these albums on set to check hair,make-up & costume continuity as there were no monitors back then-and thank God for that as things were far more organic and we learned to trust our memories and instincts more, engaging fully with what went on in front of the camera! Looking at these photos today makes my entire being sing with memory…Guess am going to bombard you’ll with my favourite ones and the ones I manage to salvage in the next 24 Hrs… so hold my hand, take my lead and walk down memory lane with me! ❤️ #dilhaikemantanahin #DHKMN #27years #27yearsofdilhaikemantanahin #memories #photographs #frayedalbum #intactmemories #comeonthisjourneywithme #visheshfilms #MaheshBhatt #MukeshBhatt #Aamirkhan #poojabhatt #anupamkher #deepaktijori #praveenbhatt #anasingh #nadeemshravan #classicfilm #filmmaking #filmmakinglife #filmjourney #ajourneyintoawomansheart”.
Later sharing an image from the track ‘Galyan Sakli Sonyachi.. Hi Pori Konachi?’ she wrote, “’Galyan Sakli Sonyachi.. Hi Pori Konachi?” We shot this hit song which appears in the beginning of the film at the fishing village in Madh Island. I wore a Traditional Nauvari Sari for the first time in my life and shared screen space with my buddy Deepak Tijori who made the shoot truly easy for me by taking me through the paces with such patience and generosity. We shot daily from 7.am to 6.pm in the sweltering sun with the entire village cheering us on.Those were the days where make-up vans did not quite exist so I got changed and ready in one of the Koli fisherwoman’s homes who was delighted to see me dressed in the traditional garb and fed me a delicious,Koli style, sea food lunch! #galyansaklisonyachi #DHKMN #27yearsofdilhaikemantanahin #maheshbhatt #mukeshbhatt #nadeemshravan #deepaktijori #poojabhatt #aamirkhan #anupamkher #anasingh #kolivillage #madhisland #traditionalgarb #nauvarisaree #downmemorylane #dilhaikemantanahin #ajourneyintoawomansheart”.
Sharing yet another image this time from the song ‘O MereSapno Ke Saudagar’ Pooja Bhatt added, “Still seeking! ???? ‘O mere Sapno Ke Saudagar’ a song that defined my fairy tale idea of love… Shot in the forests of Ooty that were drenched with the fragrance of eucalyptus,it was a song rendered beautifully by Anuradha Paudwal. I had a distinct lisp then, traces of which still remain and Anuradhaji called me to her home before she recorded it and made me speak to her at length so she could incorporate my supposed speech setback into the song. Love her for that as she made me feel that it was actually a special attribute and contributed to what and who I was. My idea of an ‘ideal’ with regards to love and the supposed ‘beloved’ has evolved since then but I still am and will remain the last of the hopeful romantics… We ARE love. However many knocks we take,we should never forget that and to give up on it is to succumb to the dreariness and ordinariness of the world. So to all of you who have loved and lost, lost and loved, continue to still believe in the miracle & wonder of love and especially to those who choose outwardly to not believe,I whisper these lyrics of the song directly from my heart to yours- “Yeh Pariyon Ki Basti, Sitaaron Ka Majma, Yahan Goonjta Hai, Mohabbat Ka Nagma, Yahaan Pyaar Ke, Hain Diwaane Sabhi, Chaahat Hi, Sab kuchh Yahaan”
Last but not the least Bhatt shared an image of Aamir Khan and Mahesh Bhatt on sets of the film saying, “Men at work! My father and Aamir between takes at the glorious Nawanagar palace in Ooty while we were shooting the song ‘Dulhan tu,Dulha mein ban jaunga’ #27yearsofdilhaikemantanahin #dilhaikemantanahin #DHKMN #Outdoor #Ooty #Nawanagarpalace #onset #onlocation #filmmaking #filmmakinglife #behindthescenes #maheshbhatt #aamirkhan #directors #actors”.
