Panipat: Here’s how Ashutosh Gowariker started prep for his magnum opus, starting with its music

When the news of Panipat was announced it took the media reports by a storm! With a cast like Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt that was unheard of, Ashutosh Gowariker is now all charged up to star the film. And the first step he has taken is to start with the music.

It is a known fact that the actors playing the lead couple in the film, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon posted updates on their prep for Panipat. Both of them have been taking the required training including horse riding lessons to play their respective characters in the film. On the other hand, it seems that Ashutosh Gowariker wants to ensure that the music too is as grand as his ambitious magnum opus. For the same, he has approached Ajay – Atul, who recently composed for the Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak.

Gowariker, who is impressed with their work, seem to have approached them for the historical war-drama Panipat too. He recently took to Twitter to share a series of photographs from their recent meeting. Besides the fact that the trio seems to have bonded over food, one of the pictures also showcase how Ashutosh is keenly listening to the compositions created by Ajay – Atul. The second picture from this album seem to have gone viral across social media platforms and it only piqued the interest further for the music of Panipat.

On the other hand, speaking of the film, as the title suggests, it is a historical drama based on the epic tale of the Battle of Panipat in the 18th Century between the Afghan forces and Maratha Empire. Arjun Kapoor will be playing the role of Commander-in-Chief Sadashiv Rao Bhau.
