Filmmaker Karan Johar, who had a blockbuster 40th Birthday Bash, received many expensive and exquisite gifts but his favourite gift was the one his mother Hiroo Johar gave him. Hiroo Johar gifted him a custom-made family painting on his 40th Birthday.
Hiroo Johar asked artist Anjanna Kuthiala, who had done a whole series of paintings with Shah Rukh Khan in 2005, to make a painting of the Johar family – Hiroo, the late Yash Johar and Karan. Initially, Hiroo Johar wanted to make a solo painting of Karan but Anjanna suggested that she make a family portrait instead. The painting took fifteen days to get made and Karan absolutely loved it.
