The fourth day of the five-day fashion extravaganza, Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019 edition saw the Hyderabad based fashion designer Anushree Reddy unveil her collection. It was none other than Kangana Ranaut who sashayed with signature aplomb giving us those Fashion Ka Jalwa vibes all over again!
The collection,’Atirah’ paid an ode to the ancient tradition practiced in Kannauj, famously known for extracting oils from flowers to make heavenly scents/attar since the Mughal empire era. The colour featured hues of Fiza(Celestial blue), Zar(Warm apricot), Sang Raza(Frosted almond). The underlying tone of the entire collection was based on the ancient saying, “Ishk or Mushk Kabhi Chupta Nahi He” which meant “love and musk are impossible to hide for long”. With an aim to bring back the old world charm to life, intricate floral lattice jaalis and hand drawn threadwork embroideries were enveloped in an array of luxurious festive couture silhouettes. we saw beautiful delicate designs that evoked the fragrance of the attar and reflected into impeccable tailoring, each garment thoughtfully crafted using luxurious fabrics like hand spun Silks and Organzas, organic handwoven Cotton and fine water-like Tulle.
Kangana was earlier quoted, “When I first saw Anushree’s collection, I absolutely loved it because it proudly and steadfastly celebrates the woman of today – a woman of substance. I am in awe of the perfect amalgamation of the delicate beauty of the embroidery, similar to what we associate with femininity, and the clear designs signifying the inner strength that every woman has within”.
Here is a closer look at Kangana’s resplendent show-stopping moment.
