This year will see another historical magnum opus in the making and well, it will not be by Sanjay Leela Bhansali but Ashutosh Gowariker. After films like Jodhaa Akbar and Mohejo Daro, Ashutosh will once again retell the story of a different era in Panipat with Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt playing lead characters. While the film has already gone on floor, the team of Panipat decided to make it special for their director Ashutosh Gowariker on his birthday.
It is a known fact that Panipat has been one of the dream projects of Ashutosh Gowariker and he was all set to celebrate a working birthday. But it seems that the team of the film including his leading lady Kriti Sanon decided to make it special for the filmmaker’s special day. We got pictures of the cake cutting ceremony that they had planned for Ashutosh and the latter was also accompanied by his producer-wife Sunita Gowariker.
In fact, Kriti Sanon also posted a special message for her Panipat filmmaker and also revealed that Arjun Kapoor was missing from the celebrations. In fact, Sanjay Dutt too wasn’t a part of the same. “Happiestttt birthday to the calmest director ever!! Ashu sir, I’m so so glad that I got this opportunity to work with you and know you! Thank you for all the warmth and smiles and encouragement every single day on the set!! Wish this year is the best you’ve ever had #Panipat P.S. @arjunkapoor we missed you! But i ate an extra piece of cake from your side @agppl @sunita.gowariker,” she wrote on her Instagram page.

Producer Sunita Gowariker too had posted pictures from the cake cutting celebrations on her Instagram page where she asked Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt to return to the sets soon. She captioned them saying, “Cake cutting on set with @kritisanon and cast and crew. We missed you @duttsanjay @arjunkapoor but that gives us a reason for take 2!!!! Come Back Soonnn!!!! #panipat #ashutoshgowariker @agppl @visionworldfilm.”
